If you are a military veteran, you may know that benefits are available to you. You may not know, however, what those benefits are.
At The Johnson Firm, P.C., we understand that figuring out which benefits you are eligible for can be difficult on your own. We are here to guide you through it. With our experience helping veterans, our team can help you determine which benefits you are eligible for and walk you through the process of applying.
At our firm, we primarily work with veterans who served before 1990. If you served in World War II, the Korean War or the Vietnam War, we can help you seek the benefits you deserve. These benefits are also available to a surviving spouse of a veteran who served during wartime.
Applying for veterans benefits requires navigating a sea of paperwork. Trying to do this on your own can be confusing and overwhelming. We can handle it for you.
We have handled numerous veterans benefits applications. We know how the process works, and we understand that one mistake could lead to denial. We will carefully and accurately complete your application to give you the strongest chance at approval.
Pension benefits provide extra tax-free income for wartime veterans or his or her surviving spouse to help pay for out-of-pocket medical costs. To qualify, the following criteria are considered:
Military Service: Veterans must have served 90 days’ active duty with one day during a period of war and must not have been dishonorably discharged.
Medical: You are at least 65 years old and you require assistance with activities of daily living (eating, dressing, toileting and bathing).
Financial: You have limited income to pay for medical needs and limited assets.
